First Contact Physiotherapists

Our First Contact Physiotherapists can help patients with musculoskeletal problems (joints, bones and muscles). They assess, diagnose and make a clinical plan for these patients. When you contact your GP Practice, you may be booked an appointment with a First Contact Physiotherapist if this is the best person to help you. At this time, you cannot book yourself in directly.

First Contact Physiotherapists do not replace or do the same job as Community (Rehabilitation) Physiotherapists. You would still need to be referred for Physiotherapy if this is what you need to treat your condition.

Our First Contact Physiotherapists will initially speak with you on the telephone. If they need to see you in person, you will be invited to an appointment at the Ernest Gardiner Treatment Centre.
